The Empire Maine Coons Cattery reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse service, adoption, or continuation of any transaction at any time, for any reason, and without obligation to provide further explanation.
Health Guarantee: Our Cattery Terms offer a one-year genetic health guarantee for all kittens. This covers genetic conditions discovered within one year after adoption. Our veterinarian must verify the presence of a genetic disorder in the kitten.
Refund Policy: If buyers become unsatisfied with their kitten due to genetic health reasons within the first year, they may surrender the kitten back into our care. We will provide a replacement kitten when one becomes available.
Note that we do not issue refunds.
Health Screenings: Our Cattery Terms require all breeding cats to undergo comprehensive health screenings and genetic testing for common hereditary conditions. These include hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), hip dysplasia, and spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). We also test for feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). We cannot be held accountable if these conditions develop after adoption.
Regular Veterinary Care: All of our cats are routinely seen by licensed veterinarians to monitor their overall health and well-being. These visits help ensure that every kitten is developing properly and remains in excellent condition.
Vaccinations & Preventative Treatment: Before leaving for their new homes, all kittens are fully up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and flea prevention. This helps provide a healthy start and reduces the risk of common parasites or illnesses.
Health Warranty Requirements: As outlined in our Cattery Terms, the buyer must have the kitten or cat examined by a licensed veterinarian within 10 business days of its arrival. Additionally, the buyer must follow appropriate quarantine practices when introducing the new kitten or cat into their home. Failure to complete the veterinary exam within the 10 days or to follow quarantine procedures will result in the one-year genetic health guarantee being voided.
Health Disclaimer: Even with extensive testing and immaculate living conditions, health issues may still develop after the kitten has been purchased and enters its new home. The breeder is not liable for these issues, nor does it suggest that any information was withheld.
Retainers and Purchases: Cash is the prefered method. We do not accept checks.
