Selective Guardian Home Opportunities

We are thoughtfully expanding our Guardian Home program and are accepting a limited number of approved families who wish to partner with us in our breeding program.

Our Guardian Home program is built around a simple philosophy: every cat deserves a stable, loving, enriching, and family-centered environment. By placing select breeding cats in carefully chosen homes, we are able to provide a consistent household routine, individualized attention, and a deeply social upbringing that supports both health and temperament. This structure allows us to maintain a small, intentional breeding program focused on quality, care, and long-term well-being rather than volume.

 

What Is a Guardian Home?

A Guardian Home provides a permanent, loving home for one of our select breeding cats

while partnering with us throughout their time in our program.

 

Every kitten is first placed as a cherished companion.

Only a small number are later invited—based on temperament, health, and

overall suitability—to participate in our carefully managed breeding program.

 

Program Overview

Cats live full-time in your home as part of your family

Participation is by invitation only and based on developmental evaluation

Empire Maine Coons retains all breeding rights and full program oversight

Pregnancy-related costs and/or Breeding-related care, expenses, and guidance are provided by our team

Guardian families are responsible for routine, day-to-day cost and care

All breeding is strictly limited to approved pairings within our program

 

Guardian Home Expectations

Approved families must:

Provide a safe, stable, clean, and loving indoor home environment

Follow all program guidelines and maintain consistent, open communication with EMC

Be willing to coordinate and accommodate breeding-related needs as required

Not have cats of the opposite gender in the home

Commit to the full duration of the program

Must agree to scheduled home visits or virtual home check-ins as needed

Must maintain availability for periodic video check-ins

 

Maintain a primary relationship with a licensed veterinarian and ensure

access to emergency or 24-hour veterinary care services when required.

 

After the Program

Upon completion of the program, the guardian family is responsible for arranging and

covering the cost of spay/neuter in accordance with the original purchase agreement.

 

Important Notes

Participation is not guaranteed and is offered at the sole discretion of Empire Maine Coons

This is not a standard pet placement and involves additional responsibilities and expectations

Participation may be discontinued at the sole discretion of Empire Maine Coons if program requirements are not met

Program details, requirements, and compensation are discussed only with approved applicants.
